A Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Mail-in ballots will be sent beginning on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. In Person Voting will also be available at City Hall
General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Mail-in ballots will be sent near the end of October and can be dropped off at City Hall or mailed. In Person Voting will also be available at City Hall.

Hello! Wow, I can't believe that almost six years have come and gone. I'd like to share with you why I'd like to continue serving you and our city. When I originally ran for City Council, I wanted to be a voice for residents. I felt that I wasn't being heard and that more attention was given to developers/potential residents/businesses than the current ones. As I've served on the City Council, I have worked hard to provide the approach of responsible growth. I take into consideration the effects of growth to our current residents. Our resources and infrastructure can only support so much. I've also learned that cities don't run on property taxes. Woods Cross mainly runs off of sales tax, so it is important to keep that in mind when we are deciding to approve a development. More rooftops mean more strain on our water, streets, sewers, and public safety. I'm committed to standing up for a balance of growth while keeping you and your family in mind.
Recently, we had a developer come in with a residential development that was not set up to be a safe community to live in. Cars would have hung over the driveways due to shorter setbacks. The developer wanted us to re-write the city ordinances to fit their development and investment goal. I was admittedly against that. I believe it is not the government's responsibility to ensure that an investor makes money on their investment. Our responsibility is to ensure that our guidelines are followed and we are listening to our residents. We have an updated City Master Plan and Ordinances that need to be respected by developers.
Another issue that we as a city are facing is the age and condition of our City Hall and Police Department. Our officers are in the dark basement of the building that was built in the 1960's with little upgrades over the years. Last Winter the HVAC system went out and because of its age, parts were very hard to find. Our officers were stuck in a "freezer" for a week. And as luck would have it, it was the week it was 20 degrees outside. I'd like to continue to be a part in finding a solution to our City Hall as well as updating the services we offer in our parks.
I have insisted on more transparency with our residents. To do this, in 2018 we began having our council meeting live streamed so residents could view from home. I've always had an open door policy with residents and employees of the city. I feel that working together solves problems and misunderstanding. I've loved serving this city and am proud to say I live and work in Woods Cross City. I ask for your vote to allow me the opportunity to continue to do so.
While I've been serving on the City Council, I have been able to work on the following items:
*Planned, Controlled Development-including Commercial and Residential
*Fiscal responsibility and transparency to our residents
*Subsidence Assistance, Education, and Exploring Solutions
*Improved Public Safety by providing updated equipment for our officers to be successful in assisting residents
*Live feed of our council meetings
*Assisted in hiring of new City Administrator, Public Works Director, and Chief of Police
*Better Communication and Accountability between the City and Residents
*Better Support of our Law Enforcement Officers and City Employees, including mandatory mental health check-ins and de-briefing for our officers
*Forward thinking on the affects of growth and changes in our community
*Help create a sense of community among our residents by supporting City sponsored family events.
*Participate in Communities that Care to bring awareness to teen mental health issues
*Actively engage with residents through FaceBook Neighborhood pages
*AND most important assignment of all-- The BINGO caller for the City's monthly Senior Lunch Bunch
